If you decide to whiten your teeth, you can either choose to have whitening trays made or we also sell prefabricated whitening trays. If you elect to have your trays made at the office, we will schedule you an appointment to take alginate impressions of your teeth and craft thin plastic trays for upper and lower that are designed to hold the whitening gel to your teeth (avoiding your gums). Either way, we will send you home with a set of Opalescence whitening gel carpules and your whitening trays.

At home, place a thin line of gel just under where your gum line would be on each of the whitening trays. Place the gel only on the tray's front six teeth (it is unnecessary to whiten your back teeth as they will not be visible). When you place the trays into your mouth, make sure to bite into them a few times to make sure an adequate coating is applied to each of your chosen teeth. Keep the trays in for 15-30 minutes as desired. Rinse your mouth out thoroughly after each application. If you notice any sensitivity, please let us know as this is a common side effect.
